 Dog Aggression Policy

If a Club Member or any other person within IPOC’s facility witnesses an action by a dog that could be perceived as aggressive behavior toward another dog or person, the incident should immediately be reported to the Class Instructor or other person in charge. The Training Director must then be made aware of the incident, and the Training Director will report it to the Officers and Board of Directors.

If the act of aggression is deemed to be an immediate threat, the Training Director, Class Instructor or other person in charge may have the dog’s handler remove the dog from the Club’s facility until the Training Director and the Officers and Board of Directors can determine what further action may be necessary.

The person reporting the act of aggression must immediately complete an Incident Report and provide it to the Training Director. Incident Report forms will be available in the front office.

Once the Incident Report is submitted and provided to the Officers and Board of Directors, it will be determined what, if any, action shall be taken. The owner of the dog will be provided a written report of the recommendations.

The Board will maintain all Incident Reports and the reports provided to the owner of the dog.
