Our Classes

 

All of Our Classes have certain prerequisites in order to attend classes.

Our Agility classes require that you and your dog first enroll in our Agility Foundation class.

For the majority of all other classes that IPOC offers, we require that you and your dog attend one of our Basic Obedience classes.

 

We invite you to check out our beginning and more advanced classes for:

Get ready to kick off an amazing journey with your puppy!

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program is here to equip you with all the essential knowledge for a fantastic start together. 

Offering your dog constructive experiences with varying situations to foster a confident and well-adjusted dog, prepared to navigate challenges that life may present.

Be it simple commands like sit, down, stay, and come, or teaching them to walk nicely on a leash and be relaxed around new people.

Obedience training is a must for every pup. 

Teaching you to train your dog the foundation skills needed to maneuver safely and successfully in urban locations while gaining control and confidence.

Passing The AKC Canine Good Citizen™ (CGC) shows you have trained your dog to become a polite member of society.

A step beyond the basic CGC test is the AKC Urban CGC title, which tests your CGC skills in an active city or town setting.

There are 10-steps to the test that your dog must pass to earn the official AKC Urban CGC title

Earn your The AKC Trick Dog Title by performing 10 skills from the Novice list. 

Or, if your dog has a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate or title on record at AKC, it can do 5 Novice tricks (CGC + 5) to earn the Novice title.

Preparing for Obedience Trials

Ideal for those ready to progress beyond the basics, Advanced Basic is the perfect next step in your training journey with your pup.

Beginner Novice emphasizes the basics of every Novice exercise.  Handler teams will learn and practice all AKC Novice trial components.

In the Competitive Novice class, you will learn, practice, and refine the AKC Novice exercises. Special emphasis will be placed on attention, footwork, and handling skills.

Take your Obedience Training to the

Next Level

Class specifically designed to train your dog to dismiss distractions when in the ring and pay attention to YOU.

For dogs who have completed their Novice Title (CD)who plan to compete in the Open Obedience ring

 This class will polish and proof the skills necessary to be successful in the Open Class at an Obedience trial.

Tricks training is a great way to have fun and build a stronger relationship with your canine friend as well as earning AKC Trick Dog titles.

Work on the skills that the handler needs to train the dog so that the dog's behaviors may mitigate the handler's disability

For dogs and handlers that meet the prerequisites, this class is offered at no charge.
